Palm Reader

First. Be sure that you have the most current version of Palm Reader installed on your computer or handheld device. If you do not have the current version (or any version), Download the Palm Reader on the left. Make sure you follow instructions posted for the correct type of device and platform.
Downloading the eBread document. This is also easy. Just click the download eBread for Palm Reader icon on the left.
A warning window may open. You may see a warning window on your screen asking if you trust us. I hope you do ... trust us, that is. Click the appropriate button to continue downloading the document.
Download and save? Downloading a document or course can take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes ... depending on its size ... and depending on your Internet connection speed. Saving the downloaded document has advantages over just working with it online in your browser ... more options are available. Saving the document means you can work with it off-line rather than downloading it for every use ... a definite time advantage. You can print without saving the file ... and even search for a verse, word, or phrase. However, changing the page size for readability, or hearing a page read to you, can only be done with a saved version.
Load the Palm Reader application and books onto your Palm OS device by performing a HotSync operation.
Launch the Palm Reader application.
Select Menu->Open to select eBreadToGo.
Acrobat Reader

First. Be sure that you have the most current Adobe Reader installed on your computer or handheld device... that would be version 6.0 or higher. If you do not have the current version (or any version), select the appropriate free Adobe Reader icon on the left to download your free up-to-date copy. Make sure you follow instructions posted for each type of device on the Acrobat Reader page.
Downloading the eBread document. This is also easy. Just click the download eBread for Acrobat icon to the left.

For desktop or Portable computers:
Saving and accessing a saved document. Click the Save a Copy icon in the upper left of the Adobe Reader window ... choose and remember where you save the file. When you are ready to use the saved document, open your Abode Reader program. Then open your saved document by clicking the Open icon in the upper left. Choose your saved file and double click it ... or highlight and click Open. All navigation options will function. You will be able to search the document. You can even have the page or document read to you ... although the reader is not the greatest.
Printing. You can print the whole document by clicking the Print icon. To print part of a document, use the print window options. You can also expand the Bookmarks menu window to the right to determine which pages you would like to print.
Navigate eBread: You will find it easy to navigate the Acrobat document. Simply click on a month and click on the daily reading link as you would when using the regular website.
Accessing a page. You can access a specific page by using the scroll bar at the far right of your screen. Alternatively, you can scroll with the wheel on your mouse ... or scroll zone on your touch pad. Alternatively, you can use the Hand Tool ... a little left of center immediately above the document.
Searches. You can search for a specific word, phrase, or verse by clicking the Search icon. Generic partial word searches can be more fruitful. Boolean searches and the use of an asterisk do not work.
Page display. Some useful page display options are available via the icons at the bottom right of your screen.
Options for saved documents only. Interesting options are available for saved documents only ... accessed via the Adobe Reader View, Tools, Window, and Help menus found at the top of the Reader window when you access a saved document. You can change the page size for easier reading from the View menu. From that same View menu, you can have the page or document read to you. Zooming is available from the Zoom icons or from the Tools menu. Help that is more detailed is available from the Help menu. Adobe reader has many useful options ... play around with it to learn how to get the benefits that best suit your needs.
You have a choice for reading eBread off-line on your desktop PC, Macintosh, Laptop, Palm, PocketPC, or Symbian device: Adobe's Acrobat Reader or Palm Reader. Please go to the links provided and decide which will best suit your needs.
